Is this a 3-step system or can I use products individually?

Each product works on its own. The shampoo cleanses, the conditioner restores moisture after washing, and the oil is for daily scalp and hair nourishment. Using all three just means each step builds on the last, but if you only need one or two, that's fine.

What makes Farm House products different from store-bought hair products?

Most mainstream shampoos use sulfates and harsh surfactants that clean effectively but also strip the scalp's natural oils. Over time, this can leave hair dry, brittle, or dependent on heavy conditioners to compensate. Farm House uses milder, plant-based cleansers that clean without that stripping effect, so your scalp isn't constantly trying to recover between washes.

What makes your shampoo different?

It's a cream-based formula rather than a liquid one. This matters because liquid shampoos often need more harsh surfactants to create that lathering effect. The cream base means we can cleanse effectively with gentler ingredients, and it tends to feel less stripping on the scalp after washing.

Can this system help with thinning hair?

It depends on what's causing the thinning. If it's related to scalp health, product buildup, or breakage – this system can help with all of that. If it's hormonal or genetic hair loss, no topical product will reverse that, and we won't claim otherwise. What we can say is that a healthier scalp environment gives existing hair a better chance.

Is this suitable for all hair types?

Yes. The formulas aren't designed around a specific texture or type. They work on straight, wavy, and curly hair. If your hair is particularly oily, you may find the oil step unnecessary, but the shampoo and conditioner are balanced enough to work across the board.

Ingredients

Are Farm House products all natural?

They're made with naturally derived ingredients, which means the source materials come from plants, but they go through processing to become usable in a formula. We're not a raw or purely organic product. What we avoid are sulfates, parabens, and synthetic chemicals that are commonly linked to scalp irritation or long-term buildup.

What ingredients are used in the shampoo?

The main cleansing agents are coconut-derived, including Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is one of the gentler surfactants available. Aloe vera and glycerin are included for moisture retention. Essential oils (cedarwood, rosemary, peppermint) are added for scalp stimulation and scent – not just fragrance.

What ingredients are in the hair oil?

Castor oil, coconut oil, and rosemary oil. Castor oil is thick and helps with moisture retention and scalp hydration. Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft and helps reduce protein loss over time. Rosemary oil has been studied for its role in scalp circulation. A few drops go a long way – using too much is the main reason people find oils greasy.

Does your product contain alcohol?

It contains cetyl alcohol, which sounds concerning but is actually a fatty alcohol derived from plants. It behaves more like a moisturizer than a drying agent – it's what gives conditioners their smooth, spreadable texture. It's not the same as the drying alcohols (like ethanol) you'd find in some styling products.

What is BTMS?

BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate) is a plant-derived conditioning ingredient used in the conditioner. It's what's called an emulsifier – it helps oils and water mix together into a smooth, spreadable product rather than separating. It also has a positive charge that attracts to hair (which is negatively charged), so it coats the hair shaft, reduces static, and makes detangling easier. It's a common alternative to silicones for achieving that smooth, manageable feel without buildup.
